I read the Sun Sentinel article where an angry President Trump threatened to “dock” the pay of air traffic controllers who called in sick during the shutdown.
He demanded that they get back to work “NOW!!!” (three exclamation points).
On his social media site, Truth (?) Social, he said the controllers who did not take any time off during the shutdown were “great patriots,” and those who did nothing “didn’t step up to help the USA.”
Well, Mr. President, did you step up to help the USA?
No. He was too busy on the golf course and throwing lavish parties, so he has no room to talk.
A real leader would have been in D.C. working to reopen the government. Trump did nothing. NOTHING! He is not for the U.S. or its people. All he does is make demands. He’s not a king.
P.S.: Did you have dinner last night? Many people in America did not.
Shame.

Watching Hillary Cassel
State Rep. Hillary Cassel, R-Dania Beach, is sponsoring a “No Sharia Act” to supposedly protect Americans from the imposition of foreign laws.

Rep. Cassel is well versed in our laws, like the law of diminishing returns, which she clearly heeds as she wastes time with yet another GOP distraction meant to gin up the MAGA base in an election year, 2026.
The law of averages dictates this very outcome.
Repeating the same action over and over on average will produce the same result: MAGA rage.
Cassel will find the Law Of Universal Gravitation applicable in that, no matter what she throws up in the air, what goes up, must come down, as her career trajectory no doubt will lead.
Meantime, the law of the jungle supersedes the law of the land in GOP circles.
Let’s see if Democrats can use the Law of Inertia following their recent successes in the early midterm elections.

Empty talk of reform
Republicans have been criticizing the existing health care laws for a long time. They need to offer a solid alternative. The Trump-led GOP often claims to be “the party of health care,” yet the party has not provided a detailed plan.
Without a clear alternative, their talk of reform seems empty and leaves both the policy field and Americans in need without a new health care plan, despite repeated promises to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Early in his 2024 campaign, Trump promised that “everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now,” and said the government would pay for it — but the details have never been revealed.

Get with it, Democrats
Democrats refused to come to the bargaining table 14 times (before they compromised), while being led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who’s afraid of losing his seat.
Now that Zohran Mamdani, a Socialist, is mayor of New York City, how many Democrats in Congress will get behind him?
Congress should not get paid during any federal government shutdown. They are stealing money from the people of the U.S.
I’m old, and I may not have said this exactly right, but you get the picture.
