Members of Boca Raton Synagogue (BRS) joined 225 people as they flew out of North America to make Israel their new home.

Nefesh B’Nefesh, a nonprofit organization that promotes, encourages, and facilitates Aliyah from the United States and Canada, hosted their 65th charter Aliyah flight and the first since Oct. 7, 2023. There were 45 families on board the Aug. 20 flight, including 125 children, 10 singles, and 3 retirees.

Families from BRS included former Rabbi Josh Broide, his wife, Simone, and their two children; former BRS Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Goldgrab, his wife, Meira, and their four children; and Talia Borenstein, former BRS community engagement leader, and her husband, Jack, a psychologist.

They join a growing number of people choosing to make Aliyah. Last month, over 1,000 new immigrants arrived in Israel, the highest monthly total in over 20 years. Since Oct. 7, 2023, over 7,000 North Americans have made Aliyah.

Nefesh B’Nefesh works in cooperation with Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, The Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, and Jewish National Fund-USA. For more info on Nefesh B’Nefesh, visit nbn.org.il.
