Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Service (Alpert JFS) held a barbecue for participants of their Mentoring 4 Kids Program at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach on July 27. Palm Beach County students were able to fill backpacks with essential school supplies while enjoying games, crafts, a slime station, balloon animals, and more.

The Mentoring 4 Kids Program provides role models for children ages 6-14 who have lost a caregiver, whether through death or divorce. The program is free and non-sectarian and aims to give kids an adult role model who may help to fill a void in their lives. All mentors are screened and trained and work to provide guidance, support and friendship.
