The Kohl Jewish Volunteer Center (Kohl JVC) at the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County came together for a back-to-school initiative on July 15, helping pack backpacks with essential school supplies for 30,000 students for the upcoming academic year.
About 20 volunteers spent their day at Red Apple Supplies in Lake Worth filling backpacks with supplies and organizing items for future volunteer efforts. The backpacks will be given to students across 48 local low-income schools. On August 4, volunteers will return to Red Apple Supplies to prepare teacher kits that include educational materials and items for their classrooms.
