The Meryl and Ron Gallatin Tzedakah, Learning & Chesed (TLC) Program, the volunteering arm of B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, is offering opportunities for the local Jewish community to do good this summer season.
Earlier this month, those looking to do a local mitzvah read books to adults with intellectual and developmental delays at the Passionate Care Training Center, made sandwiches for people in need, and assembled care packages for those experiencing homelessness. Some read with preschoolers at Dixie Manor, a public housing complex.
If you didn’t get a chance to participate, don’t fret — there are more opportunities this month. Among them:
- On Friday, July 25, there will be a “Joy & Jingle in July” gift exchange at the Passionate Care Training Center from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as another reading event for Dixie Manor preschoolers.
- On Sunday, July 27, hot meals will be served at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church to those struggling with food insecurity.
