Arthur L. Blutstein https://www.sun-sentinel.com/obituaries/arthur-l-blutstein/ Fri, 02 Jan 2026 05:05:00 +0000 https://www.sun-sentinel.com/?post_type=obituary&p=13113194 Dr. Arthur Lewis Blutstein, 88, of Boca Raton, Florida, died Monday, December 29, 2025.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Millie Malawski Blutstein; his children, Laurie Allen and Allan Blutstein (Rachael Goldfarb); his grandchildren, Danielle and Justin Allen, and Eden, Ben, Adam, and Elliot Blutstein; his sister, Suzanne Mayesh (Maurice); his niece, Flora Glouberman (Irwin Weiss), and nephew, Josh Mayesh; and his stepsons, Barry Malawski (Sandra) and their daughters Lianna and Jadyn Malawski, and Scott Malawski (Lisa) and Lisa’s son Anthony Young.

Born to Dr. Samuel and Mrs. Ruth (Moed) Blutstein on May 10, 1937, Arthur grew up in Tudor Village, an enclave of Ozone Park in Queens, New York. He graduated second in his class at John Adams High School and, by all accounts, was the neighborhood’s second-best stickball player. He attended Columbia University before earning his dental degree from New York University, as his father had before him.

Arthur began his dental career while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, where he met his first wife, Lonnie (Balint) of Oakland, California. They married in Switzerland in 1964 and settled on Long Island two years later. Arthur opened a dental practice in Woodbury, a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, with Lonnie supporting him as the office receptionist. Their marriage endured until her death in 1993.

Arthur’s life took a new turn in 1995 when he married Millie, a widow from nearby Massapequa, New York. Shortly thereafter, he retired from dentistry and moved to Florida. He enjoyed pinochle, genealogy, Little League baseball, crossword puzzles, and spirited conversations about current events and life’s injustices.

Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Glendale, Queens, New York, on January 4, 2026.

William Donald Bailey https://www.sun-sentinel.com/obituaries/william-donald-bailey/ Tue, 30 Dec 2025 05:05:00 +0000 https://www.sun-sentinel.com/?post_type=obituary&p=13110335 Don Bailey 1933- 2025

Don Bailey, founder of Don Bailey Carpets, and a Miami icon, passed away on December 21, 2025, of natural causes with his family by his bedside.

Born in a rural town in Georgia, he moved to Miami at age 6, and attended both Miami Jackson and Miami Edison high schools.
After dropping out of college, he traded classrooms for hands-on business experience. He became more than a guy who sells carpet with a crazy, nearly nude billboard, more than a guy who started successful flooring and real estate businesses, more than a numbers man, and more than the life of the party. He’s the guy who helped hard-working employees or friends in need, including assisting with housing or transportation, and mentored young people. He believed in giving back and lived as an example that the American dream is attainable, and made sure to spread joy and fun to all he met along the way.

Don is survived by his wife, Donna, his children, Don Bailey,Jr., Brett, and Jean, his daughter-in-laws, Priscilla, Josephine, and Anna, his grandchildren, Adrian, Carmela, and Cora, and honorary son, Al Hinson. Predeceased by son Robert Bailey.

Funeral will be held at Church By the Sea, 1000 Kane Concourse, Bay Harbor Islands, FL, on January 3, 2026 at 4 pm.
