Albert Emerson Richards, III OBITUARY
Dick was born in Baltimore, MD to Albert,Jr. and Grace Beverly. He was a gifted athlete playing football, basketball and baseball at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, MD. He was inducted into his high school Athletic Hall of Fame along with his life long friends, John Gossage and Robert Westwood. He went to the University of Maryland on a baseball scholarship. He played with his great friends Ed Compton, Phil Corddry, Tom Hopkins and Bob Stropp. There is where he met the love of his live, Joan who was there playing Field Hockey. His grandson Christian is following in his footsteps and is playing a fabulous shortstop at Western High. In 1967 he was drafted by the Washington Senators. In 1976 they moved to Florida and raised three wonderful children, Albert,IV,(Adis) Bill(Natalie) and Beth(Cesar). He had nine grandchildren, Riley, Albert,V, Christian, Cameron, Eve, Matthew, Ryan, Zach and Zoe. After he finished baseball he became a Vice President, first at American Bankers and then John Alden Life. He is survived by his siblings Robert(Barbara Lee) Kathy(Steve) Kim(Mike)and Michael(Betty). His sister Sunny pre-deceased him. He loved Las Vegas, especially playing craps with his buddy, Dave Pahl. A special thanks to his brother Bob who was always there for him. His family was his world.
